Stinger, baby, that’s what I’m talking about. These guys know how to get you to tune in next week. Can’t wait to hear what this Ammon guy says. Maybe we’ll finally hear the story about this box.
Ok, I really liked this episode. I can’t believe they stopped it when they did. What is the deal with that dang box?!? Are questions being answered, or am I left with more? Can’t wait for next week’s episode!!
Well anywho.Ya loved the horses but what was with the line, “I’ve prepared the horses.” haha I actually laughed out loud on that one. A little too archaic if you ask me, but I think that’s what you guys were going for so. .. ya I don’t know.
P.s. I just love Porter more and more each time I watch
“gotta love this shiz!”
Yes, Jack, Shiz is also a Book of Mormon name.
So predictably Jeremiah bumps into one of the 3 Nephites, who takes him to a subterranean cave in Manti (also a Book of Mormon location, according to modern prophecy), and there finds hidden records. I guess in the *yawn* sense it is a lot like Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites.
This has the flavor of Star Wars more than anything else. The young Jedi having arrived in Dagobah (or is it still Tatooine, with Ammon as Obi-wan?), I imagine he will find something here that sends him hurtling towards an ultimate resolution of his identity…
Dagobah? The swamp planet that Yoda exiles himself to? That doesn’t make much sense. Unless he’s going to find Kermit ((sudo-Yoda) haha I love that Shaw) the frog in that cave. Wait does that make Ammon R2? And the ‘young Jedi’ I’m guessing you mean Luke, was already on Tatooine so he couldn’t really ‘arrive’ on the planet he had been living on for his whole life… So I guess Jeremiah arrives on Earth to resolve his destiny… Haha
Why in the world am I attaching my name on this?! Oh well.
PS: If Jonathan is right, Jeremiah should tell Kermit he deserves better than Miss Piggy.
I don’t know if I would put my name on a comment like that either, Austin. I’ll take you step-by-step, though, because you seem confused about how the plot of Jer3miah is becoming a trite rehash of other contemporary fiction. First, don’t let the “arrived” bit throw you off: it doesn’t appear in the parenthetical. Second, Ammon is like both Yoda and Obi-wan, being an all-wise spiritual mentor that help orphaned/adopted/spiritually-gifted child discover his identity. Third, one of the settings here (Provo and its surroundings) it a bit like Tatooine, b/c Luke’s parents die there and there Obi-wan helps Luke evade capture. Another setting, the cave in Manti, is a bit like Dagobah, b/c mentor Yoda lives there, Luke comes there to face testing and gain knowledge/training/spiritual strength.
Your ill-executed mockery of my comment indicates that you didn’t much appreciate it. It also looks like you don’t like Shaw much either. Work for the show?
Haha okay stop stop. First of all I LOVE Shaw. He’s absolutely brill. And second of all you are not doing this Star Wars comparison any justice! Luke’s parent’s don’t die on Tatooine, Luke’s AUNT and UNCLE die on Tatooine. Cmon man. If you’re going to come on here acting like a know it all at least get your facts straight. So don’t tell me I am confused, kinda seems like you’re pointing out the mote in my eye and not considering the beam in yours… Uh oh. Don’t get all huffy and puffy over that one okay Jonny?
Your ill-executed reply indicates you’re not as great as you think you are huh? Peace brother! I’m not about to get myself anymore involved in this conversation… because when you wrestle a pig, you BOTH get dirty. But the pig loves it… Night dude!
Jonathan’s comparison isn’t actually that flawed. Both Luke and Jeremiah are reluctant heroes. It is an archetype that transcends a lot of stories, times, and cultures. George Lucus didn’t come up with it and neither did whoever wrote Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites or whatever (I actually grew up reading Goosebumps so I don’t know exactly) and Jeremiah won’t be the last to portray this kind of hero either. The Luke Skywalker comparison isn’t a bad one and neither would a Neo (The Matrix) or a Spiderman or a thousand other comparisons be.
I think people are getting to be a little too quick to take offense and get mean spirited on these comments. Good stories use archetypes and it’s not a crime.
i like the Star Wars comparison. i never really thought of it in that sense, but to me, it makes a lot of sense. austin… your right, his aunt and uncle died on tatooine, but they were his adoptive parents, just like roger and deborah (whoa… her name looks a lot like dagobah… deborah. sweet.) and the comparison doesn’t have to be literal. i think jonathan comes very close to the overall direction and intention of the show. don’t be jealous that he came up with the idea first… haha!
Nah you guys are right. I was mostly fighting his tone more than anything else. But okay I give, Jonny makes some good comparisons… although he needs to brush up on his Star Wars History haha I guess that’s no reason to get all Darth Maul on him
I don’t work on the show but I was an extra once and it was fun. The art and camera peeps do a great job of keeping this show interesting, especially in upcoming episodes. Anyway that’s all I’m gonna write because I don’t want this compliment to get erased. Have a good rest of the season and hope it turns out well for Jer3miah and ya’ll.
Impressive episode. You’d think that old guy would wear something a bit less conspicuous. You could probably see that blue jacket a mile away. And yeah, I think they could have worded the line about the horses differently.
Ahhh, so Jeremiah has stumbled upon the plates of the BOM and he will get to see the sealed section! Only problem is he needs a urim and thummim… JK I have no idea
Hello again,
For the record, i never mean to insult anyone in a personal manner, and Cody i apologize for singling you out like i did. honestly. but i stand by my opinions from before and at least i feel like it was constructive. You guys just keep doing what you feel is best and it shouldn’t be any different regardless of what i say or anybody else says. anyway, just thought i’d let you guys know. i’m going to continue to watch.
what was jeremiah holding when he got off the bus? i thought it was the mile marker 3 note but apparently that was in his bedroom. hmm i should know the answer but i don’t.

The numbers are 3 : 1 : 4 : 13
April 3rd, 2009 at 9:43 PM
come on guys, what’s Friday with Jer3miah???????
April 3rd, 2009 at 10:24 PM
Well, whatever happened to the show, the answer is somewhere in those numbers.
Either it’s going to take some digging to find the episode or we have not accomplished what we need to in order to see the next episode.
Everyone get on TDP (The Davenport Papers) and let’s figure this thing out!
April 4th, 2009 at 11:02 AM

April 5th, 2009 at 6:47 PM

April 6th, 2009 at 12:10 AM
